Please scroll down or click on the files below to view the Final Exam Bus Schedules for May 19-21, 2025. Adjustments were made to a number of buses, including some Gr. K-12 buses, therefore your child's bus may also be affected by the changes.

On Monday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 20, High School will be released at 2:59 pm. The following bus routes will be affected by this:

• R1-H Waimea (High School)
• R2-A Hamakua (Laupahoehoe to Honokaa)
• R2-B Hamakua (Papaikou to Honomu)
• R3 Kau
• R4-H Pahoa (High School)
• R5-HA, R5-HB and R5-HC Prince Kuhio Plaza (High School)
• R6-H Wong Stadium (High School)

Important Note for Elementary and Middle School Hāmākua and Kaʻū bus riders: With High School's 2:59 pm release time, the drop off times were adjusted and these buses may arrive a 5 mins later than normal. Therefore, please check the bus schedule to view your child(ren)'s updated drop-off time(s).


On Wednesday, May 21, the last day of school, 

• High School will be released at 11:30 am
• Middle School will have their normal Wednesday Bus Schedule
• Elementary School has a normal 2:40 pm release day.

The following bus routes will be affected by this:

• R1-H Waimea and High School Riders on the R2-A Hamakua (Laupahoehoe to Honokaa) bus, will be combined onto one bus.
  • Please make sure your child is present at the bus ramp and aware there is only one Laupahoehoe through Waimea bus.
• ES & MS riders on R2-A Hamakua (Laupahoehoe to Honokaa)
• R2-B Hamakua (Papaikou to Honomu)
  • ES & MS will be on one bus
  • HS will be on a separate, earlier bus
• R3 Kau
  • ES & MS will be on one bus
  • HS will be on a separate, earlier bus
• R4-H Pahoa (High School)
• R5-MA & R5-MB Prince Kuhio Plaza (Middle School Wednesday Schedule)
• R5-HA, R5-HB and R5-HC Prince Kuhio Plaza (High School)
• R6-M Wong Stadium (Middle School Wednesday Schedule)
• R6-H Wong Stadium (High School)

Elementary School ends at 11:15 AM.
Middle School ends at 11:30 AM.
High School is a normal school day and normal bus schedule.

As the Merrie Monarch Festival approaches, from April 23rd to April 25th, 2025 the afternoon Wong Stadium bus stop location will temporarily be moved to the area across of Isemoto Contracting. For those who are familiar with the adjustment, this is the same location as previous years.

Returning Students: the online 2025-26 bus application will be available on
     March 24, 2025 at 8:00 am through April 30, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
You may still submit an application after the April 30th deadline; however, your child may be placed on a waitlist based on seating availability.

New invites (Grades K, 4, 6 and 9): the bus application will be available on the day of the New Student Orientation:

• Gr. 9 will open on Friday, March 28 at 6:00 pm
• Gr. 6 will open on Saturday, March 29 at 8:00 am
• Gr. K & 4 will open on Saturday, May 3 at 8:00 am

The deadline to apply for New Invites is May 31, 2025. Bus seats are limited and you may still submit an application after the deadline; however, your child may be wait-listed based on seat availability.

A few tips when you complete the bus application:

• When you reach the end of the bus application, please know you will need to hit the submit button twice.
  1. 'Click to proceed' button brings you back to the top of the page and the system wants you to confirm the information is correct.
  2. 'Submit' will submit the application and then you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
• If you experience technical issues when trying to access the Bus Application, first clear the Cookies and/or Cache in your web browser's history. If you still have accessibility issues, please use a different web browser (i.e. Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari).

Financial Aid Applicants
We suggest you apply as soon as possible, even if you have not received confirmation from Financial Aid, because seats fill up quickly. If for some reason you do not receive full/partial financial aid, please e-mail Transportation along with an explanation and we will work with you to cancel your child's bus transportation.

All students (Returning & New)
ʻOhana may apply for one bus route in the morning and/or one bus route in the afternoon – multiple bus routes are not allowed. You will receive a confirmation e-mail once the application is submitted.
 
Priority for bus seat assignments is on a first-come, first-served basis. Bus seats are limited, and your child may be wait listed based on seat availability. Transportation will provide buses for service areas based upon the number of applicants and may add/remove/combine routes to meet the minimum count for bus service.

• Note: The Prince Kūhiō Plaza bus stop times listed on the bus application are based upon the previous school year's schedule and may be subject to change.  Bus seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore it is not guaranteed your child will be assigned to the specific bus route time you have selected.

 
Bus Seat Approval Letters and further information (bus assignment, bus schedule, etc.) will be mailed to ʻohana in July.

  • Honokaʻa - Tex's Drive-In 7:25 pm
  • Paʻauilo - Earl's Store 7:15 pm
  • Laupāhoehoe - Minit Stop 7:00 pm

 

• Volcano Store 6:30 pm
  • Glenwood Park  6:15 pm
  • Mt. View -  St. Theresa's Church 6:10 pm

Wednesday, 3/12/2025
HS buses will depart 5 minutes later than normal. As a result, Elementary and Middle School students on the afternoon Hāmākua and Kaʻū buses may arrive 5 minutes later than normal.
 
Thursday, 3/13/2025

• NO High School afternoon buses
• NO Evening/Activity Buses 
• After Hōʻike, the following HS Buses depart the HS Bus Ramp at 8:30 pm:
  • Combined Waimea and Hāmākua bus: all stops (Pāpaʻikou through Waimea)
  • Kaʻū – Mt. View through Nāʻālehu Theatre
  • Pāhoa – all stops (Keaʻau through Pāhoa Marketplace)
• NO Hōʻike Bus Service to Prince Kuhio Plaza or Wong Stadium, therefore ‘ohana will need to make arrangements to pick up their keiki when Hōʻike ends.

 
Friday, 3/14/2025

• Afternoon bus service: only Pahoa, Prince Kuhio Plaza & Wong Stadium will operate for HS
  • HS students on the Waimea, Hāmākua & Kau buses will remain at school
• After Hōʻike, the following HS Buses depart the HS Bus Ramp at 8:30 pm:
  • Combined Waimea and Hāmākua bus: all stops (Pāpaʻikou through Waimea)
  • Kaʻū – Mt. View through Nāʻālehu Theatre
  • Pāhoa – all stops (Keaʻau through Pāhoa Marketplace)
• NO Hōʻike Bus Service to Prince Kuhio Plaza or Wong Stadium, therefore ‘ohana will need to make arrangements to pick up their keiki when Hōʻike ends.

 
High School bus riders must be assigned to an afternoon bus route in order to utilize the evening buses on the above dates. Riders must scan their RFID bus pass when boarding the bus.
 
Elementary and Middle School buses will operate according to the Wednesday and daily bus schedules.

• There will be NO regular or evening bus service during the Winter Break (Friday, 12-20-2024, through Monday, 1-6-2025).

• ES, MS, and HS Regular and Evening Bus Service will resume when students return from the break on Tuesday, 1-7-2025.

Due to road maintenance on Old Volcano Road, the Keaau - HFS FCU bus stop will be temporarily be moved to the Local Mail & Ship and Keaau Deli area (just after McDonald's) today, Friday 11-8-2024.
