Update: 2nd bus should arrive at Volcano around 6:25am.
Hwy 11 is closed due to a traffic accident. Students between Ocean View and Pahala will be brought to school using Saddle Road. Another bus will be sent to transport students between Volcano and Kurtistown. Police estimate closure will last for several hours. Correction: Traffic accident is at 47MM, which is between Pahala and Volcano.

Due to Severe Weather, ALL campus activities for Middle and High School has been cancelled for this afternoon. All students are asked to leave campus immediately after school to ensure their safe return home.
Afternoon buses are running as scheduled. Evening Bus service is cancelled. The Hawaiʻi DOE highlighted the importance of bus safety with tips and reminders to stay aware and be responsible when riding the bus. This week is also National Bus Safety Week. Learn more at

Robert's Hawaii sent a replacement bus to transport the students from the MS Ramp to Waimea. Students departed campus at 2:46 pm, with an estimated arrival time at 4:00 pm.

Due to a traffic accident, Hwy 19 will be closed in both lanes. The Honoka'a Bus will continue it's route as scheduled and should reach MM 28 after the road is estimated to be reopened.
The Waimea Buses will be using Saddle Road and their estimated time of arrival is between 5:15 and 5:30pm. Please expect delays. A School Messenger message was sent out today. This afternoon, Robert's Hawaii notified us that the R1-E/M Waimea Bus had a breakdown between the 1st Gulch and Papa'aloa. Some of the riders were transferred onto the Waimea HS Bus. Remaining riders were transferred to the R2 Honokaʻa Bus. ETA in Waimea for 1st group is 4:15pm. ETA in Waimea for 2nd group is 4:30. The Honokaʻa bus will still need to drop off students along the way.
Evening Bus Service starts on Thursday, 8/3/17.Evening Buses. Provided (only on select routes) for current Middle and High School bus riders participating in after-school activities or sports. Riders that have been awarded a PM (afternoon) or RT (round-trip) bus pass may utilize this service at no additional cost. Times are listed on the Bus Schedule (page 2). Students are required to scan their 2017-2018 Bus Pass whenever riding the bus.
