We have received a report from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands Office in Waimea that parents are driving on the grass as they are dropping off and picking up their keiki. Please use the paved road leading into the area fronting the office. There are serious safety concerns regarding entry and exit from anywhere other than the paved road that is provided for all patrons.
If this concern continues, the Hawaiian Home Land Office will take necessary steps to ban individuals from their premises. Kamehameha Schools has an agreement with Hawaiian Home Lands to use their location as a KS Bus Stop. As such, they have the right to terminate this agreement if our use creates a public nuisance or safety concerns at any time. If this occurs, we may no longer be able to use this location as a bus stop. Mahalo for your understanding. Due to a large number of late requests and late invitee's, the Transportation Office is experiencing a backlog in processing. Between 7/11/23 and 8/7/23, Maile processed 100 late applications, requests for changes/corrections, and cancellations to routes and passes.
All online bus applicants will receive a confirmation email. Please have this available should you have questions regarding your bus application. Mahalo for your patience and understanding. Effective 8/7/23, the Laupahoehoe bus stop has been move back to the R2A Hāmākua route. Please click on the below link. ![]()
